My 3 Focuses to Help Me Thrive This Semester - #48
Well... the summer time is now up. Today was Day 1 of the new semester! Lately I've had some struggles with having faith in facing an uncertain future. Here are the three things I'm going to focus on to help me pull through and get the most out of it.
1. Be okay with only having a snapshot view of the future - I'm just going to keep on working and growing, and let the puzzle pieces fall into place one by one. When I do procrastinate I will not spend a lot of time thinking about it, as this will only cause more stress and throw off my emotional state. In short...
I will not let one thing that I do not know and one thing that is going wrong mess up everything that is going well.
2. Remember that I have things to look forward to - The way I have this semester set up I already have a lot to look forward to each week. I'll be doing two weekly gaming streams on Twitch to unwind, and I already have a lot of podcast interviews in the schedule that will happen.
I will also choose to remember that there are many things I have to look forward to that are in the future (like being able to tell my kids about things I've learned from podcasting and from college) and are predicated on me treating the present well.
3. Choose to do a lot of self-reflective activities and have abundant compassion on myself be the norm - I am going to prioritize self-care this semester a lot more than I have in any other. I am going to really dig into myself and apply my best self to what I do. The only way that I will be able to do this is if I'm doing things that help me unwind and also recharge, like reading books, podcasting, etc.
I believe that I have prepared well for this semester, and I know it'll be a great one as I do these things.
