The National is a celebrated biennial survey showcasing the work of artists from across Australia from different generations and cultural backgrounds. This year’s fourth instalment sees the exhibition mounted across three venues – the Art Gallery of New South Wales (AGNSW), Carriageworks, Campbelltown Arts Centre and the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia (MCA). Two of its curators, Aarna Fitzgerald-Hanley (Carriageworks) and Beatrice Gralton (Art Gallery of NSW) join us to chat about its diverse range of works including painting, photography, film, sculpture and textiles. Plus, say “hey” to a new late-night spot with a top-tier wine list, cocktails inspired by Southeast Asia, and bar snacks available until 3am
