In this episode, I rant a bit about current events including Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. I also discuss the economy and the indicators that should alarm us all. I begin this episode with a discussion of Elon Musk’s pending acquisition of Twitter. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is challenging for us to grasp. The death and destruction they are causing are unimaginable. Please join me in praying for Ukraine and her lovely people. Pray that God’s Kingdom would be advanced in Ukraine even in these challenging times. The U.S. economy is adjusting and declining in many respects. I discuss several concerns and ways to think about the economic environment today. I explain the real cause of inflation and the politics of these economic times. The two and ten-year U.S. Treasury rates are climbing at a concerning pace. I discuss the implications of this, and I compare our economy today to the period during the Carter Presidency as well as the early twentieth century. Since my recording of this episode, interest rates have increased further, and Russia continues to bomb and attack Ukraine. We will continue to track these two important topics in upcoming episodes.
