In this episode, Kellan starts this series on forgiveness. So, the first question is who hurt you? It doesn't have to be physical, although Kellan suffered physical abuse as a child. But, Kellan begins with talking about all of the invisible rocks that we carry around and how forgiveness figures into this. From the first time we fall off the bed as an infant to falling when we learn to walk to scolding, slaps, and spankings we get for misbehavior, we experience pain and injury. Whether well-intentioned or not, this pain leaves a significant mark. 

The bigger question is... What are we going to do with this? If you have physical scars that don't heal, how do you move on? If you have internal scars, from mental or emotional abuse, how do you move on? Can you let it go? Can you forgive? Most often, we don't get guidance about what to do. People say things like forgive and forget or the really unhelpful "Can't you just get over it?" 

What we do know is that feelings of revenge, wanting to punish the other person, does not help us heal. Yes, another person may receive justice in the worldly sense...but, what about us? Inside of us, inside our soul? How does that heal?

Life is full of sharp stones and daggers. Unless we are taught or discover how to handle all these things, we feel hurt and full of anger. Something is just unfair and we want justice.
