A childcare centre in Perth's south will remain closed for the foreseeable future -- after it caught fire overnight.

The fire broke out at Playtime Early Learning on Davey Street in Mandurah - when the building caught fire just after 6 o'clock last night.

Reporter Rachael Clifford told Lachy and Will on 6PR Breakfast it's believed the blaze was sparked by an electrical fault, and about $250 thousand worth of damage has been caused.
