Newsom's proposed budget for Medicaid projected to fall short

Governor Gavin Newsom has notified lawmakers that the state will need to borrow $3.4 billion dollars to close a budget gap in its Medicaid program.
POLITICO reports that a spokesperson from the Department of Finance said that will only be enough to cover state Medicaid bills through the end of the month.
