DISCOVER YOUR JOY IN SUFFERING

KEY THOUGHT:
Suffering is good for us. Suffering leads to hope and joy!

KEY VERSE
1 Peter 4:12-13 
"Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed."

ADDITIONAL PASSAGES

• Romans 5:3-5 - We rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not disappoint.
• James 1:2-4 - Count it all joy when you meet trials of various kinds for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness, and let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, not lacking anything.
• Hebrews 12:1-2 - Fix your eyes on Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God
• Romans 8:18 - I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.
