1 Thessalonians 5: 19-22

Each verse has to do with preaching:
Verse 19 "quench not the spirit": the spirit can be resistant, spirit grieves and the spirit can be quenched.

Verse 20 "despise not prophesyings": preaching should be:
1. plain
2. personal
and 3. promising

Verse 21 "prove all things; hold fast that which is good": today many accepts anything that comes from people - we believe everyone who say they are Christians are, when they are not.

Verse 22 " abstain from all appearance of evil": things that are not good (i.e. movies, music, tv shows, or books) get rid of these things as they are the appearance of evil.
