Terri Hinkley, CEO of the Gloucester County, NJ-based Academy of Medical Surgical Nurses, gets us caught up to speed on the criminal case against former Vanderbilt nurse RaDonda Vaught, who faces charges of reckless homicide and felony abuse of an impaired adult after a patient in her care died from the wrong medication. Hinkley sees potentially disastrous implications, and considers the trial yet another factor that could drive people away from nursing.
