We live in a thin-obsessed culture and it's making us eternally unhappy with our bodies and ourselves. As parents we are as affected as our kids by the daily barrage of images and media messages that sell us an unrealistic ideal of female (and male) beauty. As a result millions of Americans deal with body image issues.
