Now, today is National All is Ours Day – which sounds like something out of a utopian sci-fi novel, but don’t worry, you don’t need to start a revolution or annex your neighbor’s backyard. This holiday is about appreciating the world around you. Nature, relationships, opportunities – everything you often take for granted. Today is a reminder that you don’t need to own something to enjoy it. The sun still shines for and you you aren't paying for it.
So in the spirit of that, the quote of the day comes from Coco Chanel, who once said...
“The best things in life are free. The second best are very expensive.”
Now, Coco had a point and expensive fashion taste too. But think about that first part: The best things in life are free. Air. Laughter. A good sunset. Your favorite song playing on the radio, the Daily Quote...
National All is Ours Day is your gentle nudge to stop chasing what you think you need to own, and start enjoying what you already have access to. Take a moment today to notice the little things – the sky, a smile, that warm coffee in your hand – and just know, for today, all of it? It's yours.
And as for the second-best things being expensive... well, let’s just say if go for it if you can afford it. But if you can't... who needs second best anyway?
And don't take this holiday literally... like President Trump who thinks it means that he can just take whole countries... that isn't what this holiday is all about.
