Hey everyone I’m Gary Hoban and welcome to Refinery Life Australia.
Today we are talking about The Walls of Jericho.
The first account of Jericho in the Bible is in Joshua 6, the story of the capture of the Canaanite city by Joshua and God’s people.
The miracle of Jericho’s walls falling down is recorded in Joshua 6:20 (ESV)
20 So the people shouted, and the trumpets were blown. As soon as the people heard the sound of the trumpet, the people shouted a great shout, and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they captured the city.
Anyone who believes in God’s power to foreknow and His power to act and direct, will have no trouble believing in the miracle of the destruction of Jericho’s walls.
At a specified juncture on the seventh day, after the people had circled the city seven times, the walls fell down.
God had worked another miracle for His people.
It was fitting that the first time Israel crossed swords with their deadly and dreaded enemies, God intervened to hearten His people, His warriors.
Miracles show us God’s power.
Gos is as much with us in our battles as He was with Joshua and His people when they marched around Jericho.
