From the Free Grace Broadcaster #205 In all our churches, among the many who enlist, there are some who desert. They continue awhile, and then they go back to the world. The radical reason why they retract is an obvious incongruity. "They went out from us, butthey were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us" (1John 2:19). The unconverted adherents to our fellowship are no loss to the Church when they depart. They are not a real loss, any more than the scattering of the chaff from the threshing-floor is a detriment to the wheat. Christ keeps thewinnowing fan always going. His own preaching constantly sifted His hearers. Some were blown away because they were chaff. They did not really believe.
