Before joining Liberty Mutual, Ty worked at the Brookings Institution and taught economics and statistics at MIT and Northeastern. Ty received his AB from Duke University, studied graduate economics at MIT, and is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society. Ty lives in Charleston, SC, with his wife and two children.
