California voters will now get the chance to enshrine the right to same-sex marriage into the State constitution, after the state senate overwhelmingly passed a proposed constitutional amendment today.
The amendment would repeal "Proposition 8", which banned same-sex marriage in the state back in 2008, but was made largely irrelevant after the US Supreme Court guaranteed the right six years later..
