Dr. Anna BIO:
Born and raised in Bulgaria, I came to the US in 1999 to pursue my educational career in the field of psychology. In 2016 I finally obtained my 5th and final degree – a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology and Methodology. Along the way, I received a BA in Psychology with a Human Resources minor, an MA in Educational Psychology, an MS in Educational Psychology and Methodology, and a CAS in Educational Research. Helping people is my passion and I want to share my story and knowledge in hopes that it may help someone find happiness. (Course) “The science of well-being” by Laurie Santos – this course offered on Coursera for free will introduce you to the basics of “happiness” – you will learn about what research suggests makes us happy (and what does not). (Course) “De-mystifying mindfulness” – this course offered on Coursera for free will teach you about the idea of construct mindfulness and its roots. The course also includes meditation exercises which may be a little challenging especially if you are new to meditation (this is where the next course will come in handy), but the knowledge introduced in the course is an excellent steppingstone. (Course) “Mindfulness for wellbeing and peak performance” – this course offered on Futurelearn.com for free will teach you how to use mindfulness in everyday life to boost your overall wellbeing. The course is excellent start for those who are new to meditation. It is also a good reminder to those who are advanced in this practice that even a 2-minute meditation can help and perhaps introduce you to new ways to use mindfulness in your life.
