In order to write your story you need to know that stories are incredibly formulaic. Life is not formulaic but storytelling is; and when you understand the rules that drive effective storytelling, you use those rules to your advantage. Suddenly you know how to make your story interesting to literally anyone — but most especially and importantly, to you!
