The Mom Bod Series
Why do so many Mom’s hesitate to jump in front of the camera? Why do we critique ourselves in photos and delete a billion before keeping one that we deem acceptable to send out to others? In today’s episode we are chatting about the Mom’s struggle with body acceptance in today’s culture of selfies and social media. We interview Gina Graham, LCSW about how to help Mom’s change their inner narrative and focus on capturing the joy of the moment rather than hyperfocusing on how we look. We offer a perspective taking technique that will help Mom’s to jump in the photo, teach an exposure therapy technique that will help Mom’s keep the photos, and offer a social media challenge to join the body acceptance selfie movement (and if that’s not actually a thing, we are making it one).
