Those connectors are standard issues for programming Arm Cortex chips with SWD or other devices with JTAG. However, sometimes you don't need or want the bulk of a chonky IDC connector - and only some customers will need to field reprogram or debug. But just having pogo pads is more accessible to connect to if you have the specific jig.
