Children are usually quite robust - but when they are really unwell it is critical to understand how to manage their care. Their different physiology and anatomy informs a modified approach to the resuscitation algorithm with different priorities and processes than adult ALS.
This two part masterclass gives a practical, detailed breakdown of what a HMO actually needs to understand and do in order to transform that algorithm into life-saving care. In Part 1 we take a deep dive into airway, breathing and circulation - in Part 2 we step through the algorithm and specifically look at how a HMO can most effectively contribute to the team.
Dr Emma Ku is joined by Dr Andrew Hardy, dual trained Paediatrician and Emergency Physician.
