This week on ABR, we have the pleasure of welcoming Dalton Jensen, the Head Wrestling Coach at the University of Nebraska Kearney (UNK). Coach Jensen shares insights into the Lopers' remarkable journey to clinching the National Championship, a significant achievement that highlights the program's storied legacy within NCAA Division II wrestling.
The Lopers have a long-standing tradition of excellence in wrestling, and this year marked a pivotal moment as they secured their fourth national title in the history of the program. Their triumph was underscored by an impressive performance, where they amassed a record-setting total of 127.0 points, showcasing their dominance on the mat.
A standout feature of this championship run was the Lopers' remarkable roster, which included eight athletes earning All-American honors—a testament to the team's depth and skill. Additionally, three of the Lopers reached the finals, reflecting their competitive edge and determination throughout the tournament.
