On Friday, California lawmakers rejected a Senate Bill, which aimed to hold social media platforms accountable for promoting harmful content related to eating disorders, self-harm, and drugs. The bill faced heavy opposition from tech companies and was eliminated during a lengthy hearing in the Assembly Appropriations Committee.
