Nigel Eccles, Flick
– The Sharkpreneur podcast with Seth Greene Episode 393 Nigel Eccles
Nigel Eccles is the Co-Founder and CEO of FanDuel and now Flick, an app that helps podcasters build a community of loyal, invested listeners. He has vast startup experience and was previously the co-founder and CEO of FanDuel, one of Scotland’s first unicorn companies.
Nigel cofounded FanDuel in 2009, at a time when fantasy sports was still just a niche hobby for diehard sports fans. He and his cofounders disrupted the industry by introducing daily fantasy sports allowing fans to compete more frequently. This model quickly caught on, bolstered by FanDuel’s partnerships with a number of NBA and NFL teams, and awarded $560 million in cash in 2014.
