But that's not to say it's impossible and that you shouldn't do it.

As some of you might know, my family and I moved from the UK to New Zealand well over a decade ago.

I have talked endlessly about how we coped with raising kids in New Zealand without all of our family around us.

In this week's show, we talk to Linda. Linda is my children's Grandmother (my mother).

Linda moved from the UK eleven years ago and has been enjoying life in New Zealand ever since.

But she left behind a son (my brother), four grandchildren, a sister, a brother and her aunt.

Linda tells us about the strategies she and her family have in place to help them all cope with being apart.
