Everyone may experience happiness in different ways. What would it take to make you happy? Better health? Money? Fame? Let's take a look at Solomon. He was known for being the King of Israel, who built the first Temple in Jerusalem. He was the son of David. He was at the height of his power during his reign. Solomon left an example for us on how he reflected on his life, and to pass his wisdom down to us.
1. Solomon looked for happiness in Wisdom.
2. Solomon looked for happiness through wine and pleasure.
3. He looked for happiness through work.
4. He looked for happiness through possessions.
Solomon was already rich. After searching for happiness through all these things, he came to the conclusion that, "this was meaningless and chasing after the wind." Solomon realized that his true happiness came only through the wisdom of God, personal relationship with God, and following the will of God for his life.
What does happiness mean to you? Have you, just as Solomon, tried different areas in life looking for happiness only to realize that there is more to be desired? Listen in. I would love to hear your comments!
