I have worked with children in many capacities throughout my entire adult life and I have had countless people tell me that I am one of the most patient people that they have ever met. And while I believe that God has gifted me with a great measure of patience toward children, mothering revealed a different side of me that I did not even know existed and it is not always pretty. I have been very convicted in my motherhood about the ways that I respond to my children. I don’t want to be the mom who yells at my kids or responds harshly for behavior that is truly just childish at it’s core.
