Brian Belefant is a Portland-based author and award-winning photographer who began his career as an advertising copywriter, writing hundreds of commercials for major brands, from Nissan to Pepsi. His short stories appear in American Writers Review, Magpie Messenger, Story Unlikely, Libretto and Half and One. He's written several novels and discusses his newest "The Sultan of Garbage," about a disillusioned commercial photographer obsessed with the mounds of trash that our society produces. With consideration to the many tons we can't dispose of, this book is an excellent conversation starter.
