Welcome to The Daily Quote - a podcast designed to kickstart your day in a positive way. I'm your host, Andrew McGivern, and today is July 14th.
Its a little cold as I'm recording this in my basement - actually crawlspace, haha, aka - my secret underground layer.
And today is National NUDE Day and of course I'm fully committed to my work here on the Daily Quote and am recording the show completely nude...
Oddly enough it is also National Tape Measure Day... and I have a fancy heavy duty tape measure. Pretty cool.
I'm not sure who decided to make these holidays on the same day... and I don't think it is a the best idea...
Alright, moving swiftly on to our quote of the day:
Today's quote is often attributed to various sources, but it doesn't have a definitive origin. It has been used in popular culture, music, and casual conversation for many years, often as a humorous or comforting remark. Because it's more of a colloquial saying rather than a formal quote, its exact origins are unclear.
An unkown person once said...
"It's not the size of the boat, but the motion of the ocean."
Whether you're celebrating National Nude Day in all your natural glory or pulling out a tape measure to, well, measure something important, remember that it's the motion that counts, not the size.
Let's dive a bit deeper. This quote reminds you that in life, what truly matters is not the resources you have, but how you use them. Whether it's your skills, your time, or even your sense of humor, the way you navigate through challenges and opportunities is what makes the difference.
I think my fancy tape measure is defective...
So, as you go about your day today, maybe daringly celebrating National Nude Day or just casually measuring things for fun, remember to focus on your actions and the impact they have. It's your approach, your motion through life, that truly defines your journey.
Did I mention its cold down here...
Thank you for joining me today on The Daily Quote. Keep moving forward, enjoy the ride, and I'll see you tomorrow with another dose of inspiration. Have a fantastic day!
