A bill patterned after the Texas anti-abortion law, that would give California citizens the power to sue gun makers, continues to advance and Sacramento.
It passes the state Senate public safety committee this week and it's one step closer to reaching the Senate floor. This idea was championed by Governor Newsom.
So if, and when it wins full legislative approval, you can expect a swift signature from the governor. The bill, SB 1327, would allow private citizens to bring lawsuits against anyone who makes distributes or sells assault weapons in California.
