Emily Wilson is editor of New Scientist. Following on from a successful career at the Guardian, including a stint editing its Australian edition, she is the first woman in charge of the magazine in its 62-year history. Tasked with bringing the magazine to a younger, more diverse audience, she discusses her plans to expand on its existing five million online readers. In this in-depth interview, she argues that science advocacy is “boring”, and describes how some of her favourite stories are the ones that “slaughter the sacred cow” of her own beliefs.
