Mom Genes The Podcast

The Mom Bod Series

In today’s episode we focus on the genes (the internal, genetic components) of belly acceptance and education. Our society blatantly sells women’s attractiveness in the form of a flawless, flat stomach with just a touch of abs and anything less than that is immediately sold ab workouts, one piece ruched bathing suits, and mom jeans. A significant piece of breaking the stigma of the Mom bod is accepting the softened abdomen. We cover four common concerns many people have with their bellies and give education and tips of what to do next! The four areas we discuss are:

  • bloating and digestion
  • the hormonal impact on our abdomen
  • visceral vs subcutaneous belly fat
  • we bust the myth that you can “melt” your belly fat.

This episode is stock full of information and specific tips of how to heal your belly from the inside out. Culture and the “wellness culture” love to offer us fear filled stats about belly fat and it’s harm. As we discuss these facts, we hold the Health At Every
Size mentality while offering biological information about abdominal fat to help you understand your body and the TRUE definition of health. As always, body acceptance (or in this case, belly acceptance) is at the forefront of our talk and we encourage our listeners to love the skin you're in!
