In episode 104 of ABR, we are joined by Troy Steiner, the Head Wrestling Coach at Fresno State. Coach Steiner has an impressive background as a former athlete, having competed for the Iowa Hawkeyes. During his time there, he achieved remarkable success, becoming a National Champion and earning All-American honors three times.
Before taking the helm at Fresno State, Coach Steiner spent a decade coaching the Oregon State Beavers, where he honed his skills in developing wrestlers at the collegiate level. His extensive experience in folkstyle wrestling, the predominant style in NCAA competitions, has contributed significantly to his coaching philosophy and techniques.
This season, at the NCAA Championships, Kyle Parco made headlines by earning All-American honors in the 149-pound weight class. This achievement marks him as the 23rd All-American in the history of Fresno State wrestling, exemplifying the program's commitment to excellence in folkstyle wrestling. Parco's success not only highlights his individual talent but also reflects the effective coaching and support provided under Coach Steiner's leadership, reinforcing the significance of teamwork and perseverance in achieving athletic goals.
