Through a series of flash-forwards and time-shifts, we get to fill in many years between the show's main timeline in 1961 and 1990, the year of the roast honoring Susie at the New York Friar's Club. Since Suie refused to actually come to a roast, she insisted that people could only give testimonials about their relationships, not actually roast her. But her friends couldn't resist the opportunity, hence the "Testi-Roastial".
