UPDATE: Police are still trying to piece together exactly what happened which leads to a pair of bizarre incidents in the Midwest coastal town of Cervantes yesterday.

Forensic investigators are examining what they believe to be human remains in a burnt-out vehicle on Indian Ocean Drive in Jurien Bay, about 200 km north of Perth.
