John 6:1-15, 25-59
"So long as Jesus remains a figure in a book he is external to us; but when he enters into our hearts we can feed upon the life and the strength and the dynamic vitality that he gives to us. Jesus said we must eat his body and drink his blood. He is saying: 'You must stop thinking of me as a subject for theological debate; you must take me into you, and you must come into me, and then you will have real life.' That is what Jesus meant when he spoke about us abiding in him and himself abiding in us. When he told us to eat his body and drink his blood, he was telling us to feed our hearts and souls and minds on his humanity, and to revitalize our lives with his life until we are filled with the life of God." ~ William Barclay

- Today, as we prepare to take holy Communion together, reflect on what you’ve been taking into your heart lately. Have you been eating a diet of spiritual junk food?
- What is one change you can make to your routine this week that will help build a hunger and thirst for more of Jesus in your life? Write it down. Put a note or reminder in your phone.
- Pray about this every morning and/or night. Ask God to create a hunger and thirst for Himself. Savor the Jesus bread and taste the Jesus wine!
