Reading aloud or reading out loud will definitely improve your speech. It just takes some time. So be consistent and don't forget to check for the correct pronunciation in case you are unsure.
Speaking a foreign language is hard. Your tongue needs to learn new muscle movements. The more you practice the more fluent you will be able to speak. native spoken Podcasts with transcript could be of use as well.
