Richie is joined by Gearóid Ó Colmáin and Dr. Stuart Waiton. Hundreds of tractors have laid siege to Paris. Farmers are furious at French and European rules and said they intend to “starve Parisians”. Long lines of tractors are blocking motorways at eight entry points to the city as one militant union promised to take control of the world’s biggest fresh food market. “[Blockading Paris] will happen naturally. Parisians are going to be hungry. The goal is to starve Parisians. That’s it”, said Benoît Durand, a grain farmer. Durand, like thousands of others, said he is struggling against low income, red tape and environmental policies that are pushing costs up. To discuss this, Richie is joined by Gearóid Ó Colmáin, an Irish journalist and author who lives in Paris.

The evidence used to justify the use of judge only trials in rape cases in Scotland is fundamentally flawed according to criminology lecturer Dr. Stuart Waiton. Stuart made his case in a recent paper which was published in the International Journal of Evidence and Proof. Why do some academics and feminists want to take juries out of rape trials? Is there any proof that so-called "rape myths" lead to prejudicial juries and allow rapists to walk free? Stuart Waiton discusses this and more with Richie.
