#8: Tom and Eileen Lonergan, Israel Keyes, and the Hurricane cocktail
Getting ready for spooky season! Based on a listener request, during the month of October we will be selecting a story that has inspired a scary movie.
This week Jane tells us about Tom and Eileen Lonergan who were left in the open ocean by their dive boat and were never seen again. Some of their belongings turned up weeks and months after the Lonergan's disappearance but their bodies were never recovered and they are presumed dead. Their tragic story inspired the movie Open Water, which we also discuss.
Deklan also tells us the brutal and horrific story of confessed serial killer, Israel Keyes. he kidnapped Samantha Koenig from the coffee stand where she worked. He tortured her family by asking for a ransom even though she was already dead.
We also mix up and enjoy the Hurricane cocktail.
