Maria talks about competing in the Race Across America bike race. She had to have a “baby steps” mentality to succeed and tells her mailboxes story.

The Race Across America (RAAM) is an iconic bike race that stretches over 3000 miles from California to Maryland. Along the way, cyclists pass through historic landmarks while also traveling through deserts and mountain ranges. Maria Parker owns the 50-59 Recumbent course record, completing the journey in 11 days, 20 hours and 54 minutes in 2013. She was also named the Female Rookie of the Year in 2013.
