Switching to Fountain from your current hosting provider is safe and straightforward, with no change in your distribution or reach, and no downtime for listeners on any podcast app.
If you are currently hosting your podcast on Spotify, any videos you have uploaded will be converted to audio when you switch hosts.
When you switch hosts, you need to redirect your current feed to your new Fountain feed. Once this has been done, podcast apps and indexes will check your new feed for updates.
Before setting up the redirect, we recommend exporting your full analytics history from your current hosting provider as a CSV.
You cannot import your analytics into Fountain, but saving a copy of your data lets you access it in the future.
Once you have saved a copy of your analytics, you can set up a redirect from your current hosting provider's dashboard by following the steps below. If your current hosting provider is not listed here, check the support section of their website.
After setting up the redirect, we recommend keeping your existing hosting plan active for at least 48 hours before cancelling it. This helps ensure that podcast apps and indexes have picked up your new Fountain feed after the redirect.
