Matthew 21: "Good Faith"

Martin Luther's Evening Prayer

Episode • Jul 18, 2023 • 29m

The Lord gives us an example of how to deal those who do not deal with us in good faith. The priests and elders asked Jesus by what authority He taught and healed.  The Lord asked them about their view of John's baptism, and when they refused to answer, He said no to answering their question. Dr. Zeile's exposition points out that the follower of Christ can and should say "No" in many situations, and that the desire to please everyone is not a Christian obligation or virtue. At the same time, we ARE to deal with others sincerely, honestly, and forthrightly. This message is accompanied by Lutheran classic hymn, "A Lamb Goes Uncomplaining forth" (Based on the Agnus Dei), and the Evangelical favorite "What Wond'rous Love is This."
