The best laid plans are made over a round of drinks, right?
A plot was conceived around a round of drinks in Tony Marino's speakeasy in 1932. Tony Marino, Francis Pasqua, and Daniel Kriesberg- all part of "The Murder Trust"- concocted what they thought was an easy scheme.
Insurance fraud was lucrative and profitable for those that could escape without being caught, so the Trust targeted Michael Malloy. After all, it had worked before, so how hard could it be to pull off the scheme a second time? As it turned out, Michael Malloy wasn't known as “Iron Mike”, the “Rasputin of the Bronx”, or “Mike the Durable,” without reason. Stories of this Irishman’s ability to cheat death over and over again will live on in infamy.
