Do you love God? What does love for God look like? Through a dramatic retelling of the sinful woman’s encounter with Jesus (Luke 7:36-50), Pastor Cynthia Bryan invites us to consider the depth of passion that we each have for Jesus.         

    Passion is the outward expression of heartfelt love for Jesus. Passion for God is observable. Passion is a natural result of knowing that we have been forgiven much. 

     Simon, the Pharisee, lived behind a mask of self-righteousness; he did not feel the weight of his sin. “Good Christians” may fall into this trap of self-righteousness, losing their passion for the One who saved them. 

     How is your passion for the Lord? Do you have great love like the woman? Or, like Simon, do you need to recognize your own need for forgiveness?
