Last year, South Australia convened a Royal Commission into Family Violence amid concern about a spike in domestic violence related assaults and deaths across the country. It's estimated that in Australia, one woman is killed by an intimate partner every 11 days. And across Australia, just over 1 in 4 women experience partner violence or abuse, while for men it's 1 in 7.
