This is Redstone, your host, game runner, and only player for Starforged: Tabula Rasa
When Season One ended, I promised to have some inter-seasonal content published starting in January and as it’s literally the last day of the month, I feel duty bound to update you on what’s going on.
First, production of season 2 has already started. I’ve been taking it slow due to multiple reasons:
- The new position at work is still quite draining but I don’t see that stopping, so I’m just trying to be easier on myself.
- I’m also looking at some changes to the podcast itself. Possibly longer episodes. Maybe bringing in an editor.
- But a major factor was.. I wasn’t having as much fun.
Actually, the not-having-as-much fun came from the interim stuff.
I wanted to change up things for a bit and make a character that was a lot stronger (meaning they had a few more assets). But what I did was… make a broken character. I gave them the heroic stats from the Ironsworn Lodestar supplement as well as giving them 4 assets which had multiple upgrades.
Long story short: Things got too easy. I was hoping to make a series of shorter stories around one main character. Basically I was trying for someone who’d get a job to do, make that iron vow, and then wrap that up as basically a one-shot adventure.
And they did. Unfortunately it was far more like someone doing a regular job. It was fairly boring. Recording it was… “fine.” But listening to it was far worse.
So the mini arcs with Casey “Shadow” Hunter are scrapped for now. I’m still going to incorporate the world building I did for The Shadow Hunter into the main story. I’m still going to release what I can of the Shadow Hunter stuff, if I can make it sound more interesting. Which might be dropping the game play parts and re-telling the story as an audio drama.
But as it stands, I don’t have much to release, so I’m taking all of February to get things together and plan on releasing new content starting Tuesday March 1st of 2022
