The Torres Community Shelter in Chico will no longer require substance testing for its residents in a push to remove barriers for those needing assistance. Also, the city of Chico is set to begin a “Buy it in Chico” campaign to entice residents to shop locally, and more than 40 states including California are suing social media giant Meta for deceptive practices and addicting underage users.
