Four measures have already qualified for next November's state wide ballot in California. There are many more in the works for what will almost certainly be a lengthy ballot full of hotly contested initiatives.
Among those is a measure that would legalize and regulate online sports betting in California, generating revenue for the state to spend on homelessness and mental health treatment. It's winning support from quite a few mayors of big cities in California, as well as the United Way and agencies working to solve homelessness.
This initiative campaign has not yet begun to gather the roughly one million petition signatures it'll take to qualify for next November's ballot.
For more on the measure and that campaign ahead, KCBS Radio political reporter and host of this segment, Doug Sovern, spoke with Nathan Click, a spokesman for this initiative campaign.
