The DSM-5, which is considered the Bible of psychiatry, does not recognize porn addiction as a diagnosable condition. Today's episode explores why the DSM has made this decision, but more importantly – the factors that we can look for to classify someone's situation. While it is not recognized by the DSM-5, porn addiction is very real and we typically see addiction patterns and behaviors play out in this area – withdrawal, desensitization, social impact, etc.
If you've wondered where your situation lands in the grand scheme of addictions diagnoses, this episode will provide major clarity.
