Hi Y'all!
My inaugural podcast had to be something special. Something I was excited to share with the world. One week before my release date, I heard from God in my thoughts to check and see if I could get the audio recording from @arthurj.photo who recorded Wayman's funeral service January 24, 2020. So thanks to @arthurj.photo, he was able to pull the sound recording of my eulogy for Wayman from his video.
And I knew this was the message that God wanted me to release to the world on what would have been our 35th wedding anniversary, May 19, 2020. Our marriage was special and holy. And My Man, Wayman Lee Thurman loved me well. So so well. You will hear me talk on today's podcast about two of the amazing traits Wayman had in our marriage that I believe made all the difference in our blessed marriage--Service to our family and thankfulness every day for what God was doing in our lives.
I Corinthians 13 is the love chapter in the Bible. I read verses 4-7 in my eulogy. "...keeps no record of being wronged" was a powerful characteristic in our marriage. I am so thankful for the many ways My Man loved me. And our family. He was an anchor in the storms and joy in the daily moments of our lives. I miss him so much that words cannot describe, even though I try. This grief journey is a process, not an end.
My prayer is you will be encouraged as you listen to my story you will be infused with hope and inspiration in your own story. You will hear much about my grief journey. It is a journey I cannot deny and it is my reality every single day. May God be glorified in all I say and do on my podcast and in my social media. He is my daily strength and joy.
So this story of my small beginnings of my life giving an eulogy as Wayman's widow is fitting to be released on our anniversary day. I pray it takes some of the deep sting of my pain for not celebrating with My Man on earth. But I know deep in my spirit, My Man is celebrating my small beginnings of starting my own podcast. We had not even talked about this as a dream. We dreamed so much together, but this assignment came to me on March 8, 2020 while in an airplane from Asheville, North Carolina to Atlanta, Georgia. But more about that in my next episodes of My Story.
