We're working our way through the off-season dead zone, but that didn't mean we didn't still have plenty to talk about on this week's episode of Oilersnation Radio.Kicking off the podcast, we got started with a delicious debate about what the Edmonton Oilers can do to better engage with the community. Obviously, Carnival of Champions — the amazing event the Oilers used to throw in the 90s — doesn't happen anymore, but that didn't mean we still didn't have ideas on what they could do to lock in younger fans. Getting back to the current day, we spent more time on the Ryan McLeod and Evan Bouchard contracts as these two deals keep dragging on into the summer when many of us expected both contracts to get signed weeks ago. Speaking of contracts, we dove into the quotes from Bob Stauffer that suggested the Oilers have a better than 50/50 chance of signing both Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl to long-term contract extensions. Obviously, that's the news we all want to hear and if Bob ends up being wrong we will never let him live it down.
